St Patrick's Day Parade and Concert 2018
Belfast will mark St Patrick's Day, celebrating the theme of Global Belfast, with a carnival parade and free concert on Saturday 17 March 2018.
ParadeThe streets of Belfast City Centre will be awash with colour from 11.30am with 1,000 people taking part in the parade, including music bands, dancers, circus entertainers, floats and lots of giant puppets.
Following a new route this year, the parade will leave from Royal Avenue, travel through Castle Junction and along Donegall Place before snaking its way around Belfast City Hall, and then returning along the same route again, finishing at Royal Avenue.
Community groups from across our cultural spectrum will be taking part alongside professional and amateur performers, costumed characters, musicians and dancers.
Free concertVisitors can make their way to Custom House Square to enjoy the annual concert, hosted by Q Radio presenters Gareth Stewart and Eoghan Quigg, from 1.30pm, featuring local musicians and dancers, along with special guest appearances.
Headlining this year's concert will be Aston Merrygold. The former JLS Member and Strictly Come Dancing star is sure to blow you away with not just his voice but his incredible dance moves.
Offering a magnificent high energy performance, SlideStep - an award-winning modern Irish dancing group with cutting edge contemporary movement - will show you a whole new style of Irish dance, and Festival Irish Dancing School Tir Na n-Og will take to the stage with a heart stopping performance.
Local musicians also performing on the day include:
- Pure Blarney
- The Rare Aul Stuff
- JORD and Tanaka.
